The world famous Del Mar Fairgrounds host the annual San Diego County fair which attracts millions from all over California and around the world. Yet there is so much more to see here.

Closest to San Diego proper of all of the North County communities, Del Mar is the perfect mix of laid back beach living and refinement. Home to the Del Mar racing grounds, Del Mar sees its fair share of foot traffic from visitors to the area. For a community of less than 5,000 people, the two square miles of coastline offers everyone a little bit of everything.


Most people who live in Del Mar will tell you that it is very conveniently located for people who commute to downtown San Diego. The 101 offers a scenic drive into work or out of town for a weekend getaway. The Coaster stops through the area and you have convenient access to the 5 and the 805 from Del Mar.


If you love seafood, you’ve landed in paradise in Del Mar. There are dozens of high class seafood restaurants overlooking the ocean. You will also find that Del Mar’s beaches are among the cleanest in North County San Diego.

When you’re playing on the beach, it’s not uncommon to see several hot air balloons floating in the sky off in the distance. Del Mar is unique in that there are spots along the coast where you can take a hot air balloon at day break or at sunset; one of the few places in the world where that is possible.
