If you asked me about life in La Costa, CA…

I’d tell you to keep your camera handy. You’re likely to have a celebrity sighting at some point if you live here. La Costa, CA is famous for attracting vacationing celebrities because of its high class amenities.

Plus, La Costa is mainly residential. The homes here are private and a lot of the homes for sale include private access to the beach. Its surroundings are gorgeous and industry consists mostly of day spas, a resort hotel, and fancy beachfront restaurants.


La Costa is fairly new. It only began to develop in the 1960s around a golf course. Later, a hotel was built which attracted the Omni Resorts chain to purchase the land. Next thing you knew, La Costa began to grow into its own little town.

The Omni La Costa Resort and Spa is famous for its luxury and hence, the town itself has a reputation for upscale living. Eventually La Costa was incorporated into Carlsbad but it still retains its original reputation as a place for posh lifestyles.


Because of La Costa’s reputation, it’s no surprise that one of its many attractions is the amenities. El Camino Real runs through La Costa and is full of restaurants, shops, and provides easy access to the two area shopping centers. However, it is still the Omni La Costa Resort that is the main attraction for residents and visitors alike here. From the best restaurants to elite level golf courses, this is where the action is in La Costa.

One thing about living in La Costa, CA…

As you could expect, it is pretty expensive to live here. High end amenities and well off residents keep the cost of living pretty high in this part of Carlsbad. Still, for those who can afford it, it’s hard to beat the charm and luxury of a community as well manicured and developed as La Costa.

Views are spectacular from almost any part of the area. The nearby lagoon, the ocean, and the resort style pools and landscape of the Omni Resort add to the appeal of La Costa real estate. There are many private homes for sale as well as homes in a few upscale apartment buildings and condos.
